Olga's Has Arrived!

SHE'S HERE! SHE'S HERE! SHE'S HERE! Okay, I'm sorry for yelling, but she's here! After 30+ hours of travel, she's here. And, she's wonderful! I knew when I saw the group of girls which one she was. I kept telling my daughters, "that's Olga." When introduced to us, she ran to us and hugged us, and we all hugged back at the same time with more than a few tears flowing!

All the children when they came through customs looked at us a little scared, a little excited and A LOT tired! Then, the chaperones got them in a group and introduced them to the various families. Olga has smiled nonstop since she has arrived and is a happy child. She is thin, pale, with long light brown hair, and a smile that lights up a room. I offered her a piece of paper and a pencil on the bus ride home, and she nearly glowed. She told us (through the interpreter) that her favorite thing to do is to draw and paint.

She is very good at sketching too. She can say hello, thank you, yes, no, and okay though at the most amusing times! ;-) She was very excited about going swimming. For her, it is now 4:00 AM, and she is in the bedroom smiling and playing dolls with the girls.

Her medical need is severe headaches which they were not able to treat in Belarus. We are being scheduled for a full physical and a consultation with a neurologist. She must take very strong medication (according to the translator) just to bear the pain. We are praying for a simple solution to the problem.

Well, I'll stop here, I could go on and on and telling you how wonderful she is, but I've got to go play baby dolls too!

Michelle in South Carolina (who's fallen in love at first sight with Olga!)
