One thing that I added to the info. is that I have set the printer, an HP610C to full resolutions, and used photo ink cartridge.

Protecting ink jet printouts: Someone asked about protecting items that they printed on their printers. The thing to use is Blair's spray fix. It is used by artists and I understand it is the best thing to use to preserve ink jet printing!

Runny Ink: Ink jet ink is water soluble. That 's why it runs when wet. Check with an artists supply store for a fixative. When mounting, try to find a glass that will protect the print from fading. You might try a framing shop.

Inks: This is for everyone who is interested in permanent printer inks. There is a site run by Henry Wilhelm at the following URL: http://www.wilhelm-research.com/. This man has been the last word on photo permanence and has been doing extensive research on the longevity of printer inks. He is about to list the latest report, on Nov.15 according to his site. You will find a lot of links to sources for inks such as Lysonic, etc.

Printer Fabric: June Tailor has introduced a product called "Colorfast Washable Printer Fabric Sheets" for use with home inkjet printers. The number on it is JT 900 and the barcode number is 7 30976 09999 1. Here in southwest MO, it is sold at Joann's, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Hancock's and super Wal-Marts. June Tailor also makes a fabric sheet product that is NOT washable that I've seen in some of the Hobby Lobby stores in other parts of the state so you have to be sure the packet says "colorfast and Washable" to get the newest product. I've used HP, Cannon and Epson printers with it with great success. Also another product, Bubble Jet Set 2000 can be used to pre-wash 100 percent cotton or 100 percent silk to make those fabrics absolutely wonderfully washable and soft for custom minis. Modpodge: DON'T use Modpodge over computer generated checkerboard UNLESS you seal it very well first. I tried this on a checkerboard floor. The ink ran. I ended up with a black/gray marble floor! I like it, but it wasn't what I had in mind.

Cabot stain-oil based polyurethane varnish did a wonderful job of finishing the print out flooring after i had spray sealed it before instillation. i used four to five coats to make it gleam.

You can also make a lot of NEAT boxes, cards and birthday banner yourself on Microsoft (see my previous post on POKER TABLES)  and print out as many copies as you have birthday guests!  The valentines printables you've heard about are a great start too.  Here is a pic of some of the gift box ideas we came up with, but there are so many more possibilities.   Remember to add all the "flaps" you'll need to fold inside.... it's sometimes helpful to take a big box apart first to see how it's made.    To make a box with a separate lid, like a shirt box or a game box, make top and bottom the same size.  When you put them together, fold inside lines for the bottom - outside lines for the top giving them just enough difference to fit the top over the bottom. http://www.geocities.com/beachbunsobx/bbgifts2.jpg

Decoupage Transfer Medium: I think a similar product to the transfer glaze that can be found in the USA is Aleene's Transfer-It. It was popular about 5 years ago or more. Transfer-It was used with fabric.  You placed the transfer-it coated paper design onto fabric and let it dry, wet it good and rub off the paper. The design was left on the fabric. I am not even sure that they make it anymore as the new color printers and the transfer paper and printing on fabric sort of take its place. It can also be used by painting the Transfer-It on a color copy or a picture and letting it dry. Soak the dry coated piece of paper  in water to dissolve the paper, scrape the paper off and you have a transparencies piece of plastic that has the design in it.

Computer: I purchased a computer from Hobby Builders.  I drilled a hole in it and put a light in it and came out very nice.   You could also make one using the patterns from Jim Collins' printables.  You could use wood for the base.
